The New Artists of Mercury
The New Artists Of Mercury The planet Mercury was named for the fleet-footed god from Roman mythology. But the International Astronomical Union requires that Mercury's craters get their names from "deceased artists, musicians, painters, and authors who have made outstanding or fundamental contributions to their field and have been recognized as art historically significant figures for more than 50 years." Here are 10 craters named in December, 2013.
