1 EMPYREAL INFOTECH empyreal 2 DESIGN Infotech PROCESS UNDERSTAND The first step of the design process is about creating a strategy and getting to the core of the product development process . DEFINE During the Define step , you put together the information you have created and gathered during the Empathise ( research ) stage . This is where you will analyse your observations and synthesise them in order to define the core problems that you have discovered up to this point . 3 4 PROTOTYPE Once you or your team have established and pulled together a selected group of ideas to move forward with , is when the prototyping begins . I , as most designer do , split this up into two parts , starting with sketching , that leads into prototyping using the prototyping on paper apps such as Marvel . 5 O IDEATE You've now established an understanding of who your users are and their needs and you've analysed and synthesised your observations from the research you conducted in the beginning and created an ideal problem ement to solve for . TEST The results generated during the testing phase are often used to redefine any problems the user may have and to insure the flow of the prototype makes sense to the user . At this phase in the process , it's all about observing the user testing the product and having them think out loud , as they are progressing through the test ; how the user thinks , behaves and feels .
