Seven LEARNING STYLES Do you know what your learning style is? According to research, different parts of the brain are used in the seven different learning styles. Therefore, your preferred learning style will 'be able to aid in guiding you in the way you learn, recall, acquire and process information. As every one of us learn differently with a mix of learning styles, it is therefore important for us to recognise and understand our own learning styles so as to learn more effectively and efficiently. Visual Learning Style (Spatial) Aural Learning Style (Auditory-Musical) If you prefer to incorporate pictures, images, and spatial understanding into your learning process, then you have a visual learning style. You learn best by absorbing information through observing visual medias and storing them in your brains. You are a visualiser who often possess a love for reading, a beautiful handwriting, an eye for detail, good organisational skills as well as a keen awareness of colours and shapes. You are very artistic, however you might have some problems expressing it. If you prefer to use sound, rhythms, music and recordings when learning, then you have an aural leaning style. You learn best through verbal language by keeping tunes and noticing details, pitches and rhythms. You have the skill of turning abstract objects into concrete ones and understanding concepts by talking about them. You are very sociable and may excel in music or performing arts though you may encounter some trouble when reading and writing. Kinesthetic Learning Style (Physical) Verbal Learning Style (Linguistic) If you prefer to exploit your body, hands and sense of touch when learning, then you have a kinesthetic learning style. You are always on the move, constantly walking around, touching everything and using your body language to convey your feelings. You have the ability to multitask and you will love an active education such as playing word games during sports and learning about nature and geography during If you prefer to use words, both in speech and writing when learning, then you have a verbal learning style. You learn best through words, be it saying, hearing or seeing. You love to read and write and you have the knack of telling incredible stories, memorising names, dates, details and places without much effort. camps. Logical Learning Style (Mathematical) Social Learning Style (Interpersonal) If you prefer using logic, reasoning and systems when learning, then you have a logical learning style. You learn best by working with, categorising and classifying abstract patterns or relationships. You are very mathematically inclined and straightforward, hence you love solving problems and understanding how things work. If you prefer to be in groups or with other people when learning, then you have a social learning style. You learn best by sharing, relating and comparing information in a group. You are a social butterfly who has many friends and the ability to easily adapt to any type of social situation and mediating any conflict. You will make an excellent leader due to your patient, empathetic and understanding nature. Solitary Learning Style (Intrapersonal) If you prefer to be work alone and use self-study when learning, then you have a solitary learning style. You learn best when you study or work alone by pursuing your own interests in individualised projects, at your own pace.
