Job Hunt Process for Rookies

WANT a JOB ? ЈОВ? WE KNOW, relax!–WE'RE HERE TO HELP! IL wLLL BUT FIRST, A REALITY CHECK: THE GOOD NEWS? You want a job, but so does everybody else. The truth is, the job market is competitive and with the surge and saturation of social media, the traditional methods of getting a job is no longer effective and quickly becoming obsolete. You've come to the right place. You now officially have the advantage, and with a few steps, will soon be receiving your first paycheck from your new job, wondering what all the fuss was about a few weeks ago. Step one PERSO NA L DRIVE WHY do you want a job? THAT'S NOT A RHETORICAL QUESTION. WE'D LIKE YOU TO TAKE A MINUTE TO THINK ABOUT IT. The more clear you are about your goals, the more achievable they become. Need money? Why? People forget that in and of itself, money is without value. It's the things that money can buy that we want and we need. Work is not always easy - but it's made a whole lot easier when you know WHY you have decided to do it. And the fact is that employers want employees with PURPOSE. Be honest with yourself. Things go a lot easier that way. So? Figured out why you want to work? Good. Let's move on. WHAT do you want to do? When it comes to answering this question, you need to focus on three main areas: 3 TYPE OF WORK INDUSTRY LOCATION what are you cut out to do? what kind of job do you really want? location. location. Location. Labor? Communication? Skills? Teamwork? Independent? Customer service? Outdoor? Indoor? Food Service, Landscaping, Call-centers, Creative, Hospitality, Health, Lifestyle, Journalism, Education? where do you live? where do you want to work? are you able or willing to move? what's your access to transportation? commuting possibilities? BE firm WITH WHAT YOU WANT. BE flexible WITH YOUR OPTIONS. Step two THE RESU ME Getting a job without a resume is like finding a street without a map. Make sure your resume highlights and showcases your employable skills; but also your personality. You are selling the most valuable commodity you have: YOU. Make sure you communicate what you are looking for and what you have to offer. Details are important. Be clear.
