And if not, have you ever thought about how much water people waste with such simple things and what the consequences are in the long run? You have? Well, think again! JT SPAS The average person in England and Wales uses 150 litres of water a day. By 2ozo the demand for water could increase by 800 million extra litres of water a day. 4.7 billion liters of water are lost each day because of leakage in supply pipes Most of this water is used for washing and toilet flushing, but it also includes drinking, cooking, car washing and watering the garden. That's equal to I1.5 tonnes of greenhouse gases a year. Considering the average person typically flushes liquids four times more often than solids, dual-flush toilets can save up to 69,000 litres of water per year for a family of four compared with a 13-litre toilet Average household water use for washing 4 drinking in the UK is about 150 litres a person daily, but we consume about 30 times as much in "virtual water" (used in the production of imported food and textiles) People in rich countries use ten times more water than people in poor countries. Even in poor countries the rich can use as much as several hundreds of litres of water a day, and Taking virtual water into account, each of us soaks up to 4,645 litres a day the poor have access to as little as 20 litres per person per day. A 5-min. green shower head A 5-min. normal shower uses A 5-min. power shower uses - 85 litres A full bath uses up to 80 liters. Don't forget a 4- minute shower is usually enough for a good wash. uses - 35 liters - 6o liters Around 700,000 children die Only Brazil, Mexico, Japan, China and Italy come higher in the league of net importers of virtual agricultural water. People in poorer countries subsist on 1,000 litres of virtual water a day every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation, that's almost 2,000 children a day A meat and dairy-based diet consumes about 5,000 litres of virtual water a day while a vegetarian diet uses about 2,000 litres. 783,000,000 people in the world don't have access to safe water. This is roughly one in ten of the population. 2.5 billion people don't have access to adequate sanitation, almost two fifths of the world's population. JT SPAS MAKING LUXURY AFFORDABLE
