Designbysoap.co.uk Presents WHO IS THE GREATEST MOVIE KILLER? ES 33 Horror films have given us some of the most memorable bad guys in modern fiction; from Halloween's Michael Myers to Hellraiser's Pinhead. In this infographic we take a look at the numbers behind eight of Hollywood's most iconic evil doers, in an attempt to work out who is horror's most prolific killer. This infographic is brought to you by Designbysoap Ltd, the UK's most prominent content development agency. OUR CAST – Our choices for Hollywood's best (or worst) movie killers Michael Leatherface Pinhead Hannibal Jigsaw Freddy A Nightmare on Elm Street Jason Ghostface Friday the 13th Halloween Texas Chainsaw Hellraiser The Silence of Saw Scream Massacre the Lambs 12 film 9 film 7 film 9 film 5 film 7 film 9 film 4 film appearances appearances appearances appearances appearances appearances appearances appearances KILL COUNT Unsurprisingly, those with the most film appearances (Jason and Michael) have the highest number of kills. So while Jason is the winner, the standout performer here is Jigsaw from Saw. 146 Michael's kill-count is very impressive, particularly considering he has three fewer films than Jason Jigsaw appears in less films than Freddy and Pinhead, and the same as Leatherface, 111 but outkills all of them 60 42 35 36 25 O Category winner O Honourable mention KILL RATIO The overall number of kills doesn't give us the complete picture, so here we're going to look at kill ratios - the average number of kills per film, removing the advantage from those with more films. Ghostface's performance is much better in this round. His kill ratio is impressive, as is that of Jigsaw 12.3 12.1 8.5 4.4 4.6 3.8 O Category winner O Honourable mention KILL FREQUENCY So far Michael and Jason are ahead, but let's see what happens when we take the on-screen runtime of each character and their total kills to get the kill frequency. This character kills someone every: Om 2m 4m 6m 8m 10m 12m 14m 16m 18m 20m 22m 24m 26m 8:04 Michael loses out by only 13s per kill in this round. Maybe he should try running after his victims instead of walking! 8:17 21:09 23:03 25:09 11:05 21:00 12:08 O Category winner O Honourable mention POPULARITY Here we'll compare Rotten Tomatoes scores for each character. To keep things fair, we'll take the highest scoring film in each of the franchises, so they're all putting their best foot forward. 95% 92% 94% 89% 81% 63% 58% 48% Michael and Freddy just miss out to Hannibal's The Silence of the Lambs, but both scored very well Rotten Tomatoes score IMDB score O Category winner O Honourable mention THE WINNER All the votes have been counted, and the winner is. Jason Voorhees He has the most films, the highest kill count, the top kill frequency and the second highest kill ratio. Take a bow Jason Notes and Sources Halloween III has been excluded from Michael's list, as it doesn't feature him. We're fully aware that Jason's mother is the original killer, and that different killers wear the Ghostface costume, and that another killer takes on Jigsaw's work in later films. Rotten Tomatoes scores are all the original films, with the exceptions of Hannibal (The Silence of the Lambs) and Ghostface (Scream 2). designbysoap Information taken from IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, What Culture, Bloody Disgusting, Google, Wikipedia, Listal, IB Times, ET Online, Wikia and Syracuse. 31 00 CCCCC .. o 0o
