SuperWoman Recovery and return to normal functioning after an ACL reconstruction usually takes a minimum of 9 to 12 months. For athletes, it can take another year to get back to form. Some never make it back at all. Trying to do too much too fast can lead to damage or total failure of the ligament repair. Setbacks are also common, something Lindsey learned the hard way with a crash on November 19th that resulted in a partial tear of her repaired ACL.
