STATE OF THE RESIDENTIAL NET WORK - 2012 In February 2012, the Association for Information Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education (ACUTA) conducted the first long-term study of residential network (ResNet) practices across the U.S. ResNets provide connectivity to higher education students living in residence halls. The survey results paint a picture of the State of the ResNet, which is depicted below. A SNAPSHOT OF 2012 RESIDENTIAL & CAMPUS NETWORK SEPARATION INTERNET BANDWIDTH AVAILABLE Most ResNets are only logically separate from the main campus network Is your institution's residential network separate from the rest of the campus network(s)? Nearly 60% provide less than 50OMbps of bandwidth.
