Viable inclusive business models are 1. 2. Farmers SMES centred on win-win business growth strategies which open improved livelihood food security as local processors and service porviders in the supply chain both doors of access to services economic viability of family farms or coops Lead Firms commercial sense 3. secure and high-quality supply base new market opportunities responsible reputation social development Successfull pilot projects of local sourcing have been implemeted already around the world: Businesses, NGOS, BH Enterprises apples in Nepal investors and policy-makers have to work together to the since 2010 scaling-up phase Unilever Arcos Dorados black soy lettuce in Peru in Indonesia since 2001 and Puerto Rico since 2010/13 Heineken Hindustan Unilever for a better sorghum in Sierra Leone tomatos in India redistribution of since 2006 since 2012 risks and Still there are many challenges, as inclusion requires... responsibilities a business case for long-term framework local sourcing flexibility and adaptability taking into account farmers' culture and trust This porcess allows to integrate and enhance the pilot projects, going from islands of success to engaging with local political and educational keeping the strategy alive institutions seas of change. building new capabilities accessing finance and proving projects' bankability transforming trading relationships into selective partnerships ..that all pieces fit into a holistic approach.
