OUR JOURNEY AND BEYOND How we became one of Australia's largest customer-owned banks 1958 CPS Credit Union SA was established by the Administrative and Clerical Officers Association, one of the main Commonwealth Public Service Unions. It was the second EST 1958 credit union to be established in South Australia. 1986 CPS Credit Union merged with Railroad Savings and CPS RAILWAY Loans Society, significantly increasing its size and assets. 2003 1OOF Credit Union transferred its business to CPS Credit 10OF CPS Union to become a single consolidated credit union. 2006 CPS Credit Union in South Australia merged with CPS Credit Union ACT to form Community CPS Australia, and with it came an array of new opportunities. An advocacy program was set up to donate $20 to charity $80,000 DONATED TO DATE for every new member that joined. 2007 A charitable foundation was established to provide financial grants to community organisations. %24 A workplace giving program was set-up so our staff could donate to charities via payroll deductions. Our Parent Equity Home Loan was introduced to assist families help their children enter the property market. Local financial planning services were extended in the ACT and NSW through Eastwoods Wealth Management. 2008 50 We turned 50. And expanded into WA through mergers with United Credit Union and Westax. Our focus turned to sustainable practices. We registered for the Federal Government's Greenhouse Challenge Plus program and instituted a company-wide environmental management system. We were awarded 'Credit Union of the Year' in Money Magazine's annual assessment of financial institutions in Australia. 2009 We merged with Polish Community Credit Union in SA. We introduced e-statements and secure SMS security for 1400+ ATMS onlir banking members. We joined the rediATM network, providing our members with access to more than 1400 ATMS nationally. In partnership with the ACT government we offered home loans to assist low income earners achieve the dream of home ownership through the Land Rent Scheme. And there were more awards... - Awarded Credit Card Issuer of the Year by Money Magazine - Came 2nd in Money Magazine's Credit Union of the Year - Won CanstarCannex's First Home Buyer Award for ACT and SA in the non-Bank category 2010 We merged with the Hunter Valley-based Companion Credit Union. We were recognised for our products and services, winning CANSTAR CANNEX'S First Home Buyer Award for ACT and SA in the non-bank category. We received a Service Excellence Award in the medium business category from the Customer Service Institute of Australia further highlighting our customer service. 2011 NSW expansion continued through a Volunteering SA & NT merger with Wagga Mutual Credit Union. The Community Volunteers program was Volunteering WA launched to connect volunteers and Volunteering NSW community organisations. More than $1.9 million was provided to local communities through our Volunteering ACT community development program. 2012 Launched our iPhone, iPad and Android apps, as well as the We're Listening Facebook, Twitter and blog. We won Money Magazine's Credit Union of the Year and the Mozo People's Choice Award for Best Credit Union and we scored a 92% member satisfaction rating. 2013 Community CPS Australia took the next step, becoming a Beyond Bank customer-owned bank called Beyond Bank Australia, one of Australia's largest customer owned banks, with assets AUSTRALIA under management approaching $4 billion, over 202,000 $4 BILLION IN ASSETS customers, 50 branches, access to over 3,000 rediATM's and 600 staff. 202,000 CUSTOMERS We reviewed our fees and charges across our products and 50 BRANCHES 600 STAFF services, saving our customers $1.8m a year. 3,000+ REDIATM'S We successfully merged with Alliance One Credit Union, welcoming an additional 5 new branches, 16,000 members, 53 staff and approximately $233m in assets. We were awarded Cannex Canstar 5 Stars for Outstanding Value for our Drive On Car Loan, placing it in the top 5% of all car loan products surveyed. Our customer satisfaction rating increased from 92% to 95%. 2014 – ONWARDS AND UPWARDS We remain 100% customer-owned – our profits are reinvested into the bank and are only used to benefit customers and their communities. We are 'the other way to bank'. NOTHING HAS CHANGED SINCE THE START...
