LEARNING DISABILITIES HEALTH MATTERS! How many in the UK have a learning disability? ABOUT 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE ...that's nearly 3 in 100! PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES ARE 58 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO DIE BEFORE THE AGE OF 50 THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION! 200 BABIES WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY WILL BE BORN THIS WEEK ...that's more than one every hour! PHARMACY PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES ARE 2.5 TIMES MORE LIKELY TO HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS THAN OTHER PEOPLE 19.8% OF ALL PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES HAVE RESPIRATORY 19.8% 15.5% DISEASES ...the rate for other people is 15.5% 28.3% OF THOSE WHO HAVE LEANING DISABILITIES ARE OBESE 71.7% 28.3% COMPARED TO 20.4% OF OTHER PEOPLE LESS THAN 50% OF ELIGIBLE ADULTS WITH A LEARNING DISABILITY HAD A GP HEALTH CHECK 100% 75% 50% 25% IN 2010-2011 0% What can be done?
