Plywood Grades & Their Applications Plywood is a material manufactured from thin layers or "plies" of wood veneer that are glued together with adjacent layers having their wood grain rotated up to 90 degrees to one another. It is an engineered wood from the family of manufactured boards which includes medium-density fibreboard and particleboard. Commercial MR Grade Plywood Grades / BWR Grade / Marine Plywood Commercial MR Grade Commercial plywood generally refers to the grade of plywood, most often referring to MR (Moisture Resistant) Grade plywood (IS 303) which is basically the cheapest grade plywood available in the market. Almost all the interior and furniture works of our homes, offices, restaurants, etc. are done using Commercial Plywood MR Grade. Tip Keep in mind that 'moisture resistant does not signify 'waterproof'. Marine Grade BWR Grade Plywood Plywood Marine grade plywood is better in durability and quality than both MR and BWR grades of plywood. It is generally utilized for making home and office furniture that is probably going to get wet.e.g. Kitchen cupboards This category is primarily used where water comes frequently in contact with furniture. It is semi-waterproof plywood. It's an exterior grade waterproof plywood, that is superior to MR grade plywood.
