In Iron Man 3 he is facing a powerful enemy, the Mandarin, when he embarks on a quest to find those responsible for destroy- ing his private world. Our hero's armor and home are demolished in a horrific assault. Iron Man is an American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics and the character first appeared in 1963's comic Tales of Suspense. Forced to fight back, Iron Man must drastically alter his suit, as well as his own DNA in order to win. Robert Downey Jr. insisted Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) be in the film; the actor wanted to progress from where she and Stark had been in the first two Iron Man films. In the recently released "Iron Man 3" trailer, Stark is shown driving the R8 e-tron, Audi's electric MAR 2013 IN THEATERS supercar. As of January 11, 2013, Whedon (who will direct again) said the script outline for Avengers 2 is done and there should be a final script in the next couple months. Most of the film takes place in 1973, 11 years after the 1962 setting of "X-Men First Class". Originally, Stan Lee wanted the series to be titled "The Merry Mutants" and because of its lameness, Martin Good- man changed it to "The X-Men".
