LIFECYCLE OF A FROG Fully Grown Frog Froglet Eggs • After 12 weeks, it looks like a smaller frog with a long tail. • Frogs lay many eggs • It will soon leave the water to live on the land and will only return to lay eggs. The embryo starts to look like a tadpole after the central yolk splits in two. • The egg matures in 6-21 days after fertilization Tadpole with Legs Tadpole • After hatching, the tadpole feeds on the yolk. • Legs start to sprout 6-9 weeks after hatching. • It will stick itself to floating weed to assist locomotion • The body elongates and it starts to prey dead insects and plants. before it starts to swim 7 to 10 days after hatching. • After 9 weeks it grows to almost look like a frog. • After 4 weeks the tadpole starts to become fairly social. It starts interacting with school like fish.
