Job seekers expect the length of screening to take no more than 1 month: Entry-level (98%), Mid-level (85%), Senior-level (56%).
Issues that are commonly found on resumes: Irrelevant buzzwords (78%), Exaggerations (69%), Lies (35%)
How often are different screening steps taken? References Required (74% always,often), References Contacted (41% always), Technical Test Conducted (10% always).
66% of IT leaders agree that the screening process provides an accurate picture of a job. However, only 43% of IT professionals agree and only 5% strongly agree with the assertion.
The top job aspects that the screening process provides insight on:
Job roles and responsibility (82%), work/life balance (56%) and career path (55%).
Areas of the screening process that need the most improvement:
Compensation discussed earlier, Feedback during the process and More insight into the actual job.
3 out of 4 IT professionals agree that the screening process affects the decision to continue or withdraw.
