Major Indian cities are gasping for breath. Its not only the deluge of 4-wheelers that is choking the Indian metropolis, but also the demand for greater reservoir of oxygen with the population growth ... maintaining its northward growth. CO2 emissions have captured the imagination of Indian decision makers, but for the most part, these policies and frameworks have remained glued to the drawing board. The ‘green city’ milestones are being adopted in a hurry by the global metros like London, San Francisco, Copenhagen, Melbourne and Singapore – indicating the urgency of an oxygen-strapped planet. In contrast, the Indian metros have chugged along with disappointing measures and implementation….
