The Green Deal: A, Is it working? The Green Deal is a type of loan that can be used to pay for home energy saving measures, and is paid back using the money saved in utility bills. This month the Department of Energy & Climate Change released the first set of statistics for the Green Deal, which launched in January 2013. Has it caught-on as well as the government had hoped? In the 1st quarter of 2013 there had been 9,294 Green Deal Assessments completed in Great Britain The region that had the most Green Deal Assessments was the North West of England, closely followed by the South West, the South East and Yorkshire. Wales and Scotland had 1% the least. As of 16th June 2013 38,259 Green Deal Assessments had been lodged of these, 245 had received a quote and wanted to proceed, 4 plans had been signed and are waiting to be installed, and so far there are O live Green Deal plans. "Some 78 per cent of people who have received a Green Deal Advice Report, following a Green Deal assessment, said they had, were getting or would get energy saving measures installed. This is a great sign - many people are increasingly looking to make their homes more energy efficient and keep bills down."
