Food and Wine Pairings for your Wedding

Food and Wine pairings for your Impress your guests with these perfect pairings for food and wine Sparkling Veuve Borodin & Canapés. Smoked salmon blinis Cremant de Limoux & Vegetable spring rolls A blend of equal amounts of Pinot Noir and Petit Meunier, with 20% Chardonnay, this is a great "house" Champagne. Blended by Boizel's chief winemaker it is stylish, supurbly balanced and exclusive. This is a vintage crémant made in the traditional method (the same as Champagne) and is great value for money. Part of the appellation is sheltered from the heat by two mountain ranges, so nights are much cooler here and the result is a wine with much more freshness and acidity than those closer to the sea. White/Rose Orbiel White Picpoul Roasted vegetable couscous salad with a pesto dressing Puff Pastry filled with shrimp a basil sauce The fresh and crisp Orbiel & Freres Marsanne/Sauvignon Blanc is a pre- miuim "house white". The Marsanne keeps the wine bright and refreshing, while the Sauvignon adds the fruit, complexity and elegance that you would expect. The result is a crowd pleasing white wine that is very, very easy to drink. Picpoul de Pinet is enjoying a surge in popularity right now. While it can be overly austere, this is a brilliant exam- ple of the bone-dry style done just right. Dry and refreshing, yet with a lovely fresh fruit character and a satisfying mouthfeel, this is a really gluggable white at a great price, wonderful with seafood or on its own. ORBIEL What are you waiting for? Grand Noir Chardonnay & Chicken breast, wrapped with pancetta Sauternes, Bastor-Lamontagne & Wild berry Pavlova Bastor- This white is a slightly unusual blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Viognier. The Chardonnay supplies the backbone and structure while the Viognier gives it a delicious element of lightness and elegance. This Sauternes from Lamontagne is made with immense skill and top quality fruit - and it shows. A delicious combination of lush, candied tropical fruit and a heady mix of ginger and other spices. Bee LM Red Orbiel Red CDR Duvernay & Duck påté on toast & Cheese Board The juicy and delicious Orbiel & Freres Syrah/Grenache is a premium "house red" After tasting hundreds of wines at this price point, you won't believe that Hugh, the winemaler, blended this beauty. Fresh, bright and fruity but with struc- ture and a delicious savoury streak, this works really well with red meat dishes but is juicy enough to enjoy on its own or at a party. This Côtes-du-Rhône is made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, sourced from thirty year old vines. With a palate of black fruits, aromas of liquorice and subtle hints of nutmeg, this is a stunning wine at this price. ORBIEL I Colombi Sangiovese Beef fillet served on a mozzarella cheese, fresh tomato and fresh basil salad Decenio Rioja & Rack of Lamb with rosemary and crushed potatoes Made from Chianti Classico fruit but labelled as plain Sangiovese and sold at an amazing price, this is exceptio- nal quality for the money. The combination of fresh dark cherry fruit and creamy vanilla (from the 12 months spent in oak) is superbly balanced, resulting in a wine that punches well above its weight. At this price the wonderful Decenio Reserva Rioja offers something quite spectacular. It is, quite simply, one of the all-time greatest bargains ever to grace our shelves. With a developed nose of black fruits, tobacco and leather, on the palate this is beautifully elegant and light on its feet. This is not a big blockbuster wine by any means, but it is wonderfully balanced and super-smooth. ROBERSON WINE ESTABLISHED.1991.LONDON
