Ferrari Group presents Golden 5 Rules of "Kimberly Process"

5 GOLDEN PRULES The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS) is designed to ensure that all diamond shipments are "conflict-free." It requires all participating governments - 48 individual countries plus the European Community (EC) - to establish legislation and internal monitoring bodies that regulate diamond mining, importing and exporting. TO IMPLEMENTING THE KIMBERLEY PROCESS THE IMPORTER AND EXPORTER MUST BE FROM A RULE PARTICIPANTING COUNTRY European Union and its 28 Member States counting as a single participant, represented by European Commission 1 54 81 PARTICIPANTS REPRESENTING COUNTRIES APPLY FOR A KIMBERLEY PROCESS RULE CERTIFICATE 2 To any cross-border shipments of rough diamonds, a Kimberley Process Certificate is required. Any rough diamonds being re-exported will also require the certificate as well, which will be issued in the exporting country. KIMBERLEY PROCESS CERTIFICATE Not Required for Polished Diamonds Each certificate should be resistant to forgery, uniquely numbered and include data describing the shipment's content. ISSUE RECEIVE A RULE WARRANTY A warranty invoice must be included in each sale and/or export of rough and polished diamonds and must contain the declaration on it. DECLARATION For Diamonds mined and/or polished prior to 1 January 2003. "The diamonds herein invoiced have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. The seller hereby guarantees that these diamonds are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds." "The diamonds herein invoiced have been purchased prior to January 1, 2003 from sources that, to the best of our knowledge, are reliable.The seller hereby guarantees that they have no personal knowledge or reason to believe that these diamonds are involved in funding conflict and/or have been traded in violation of any United Nations Resolution. ΙMPORTAΝΤ AUDITABLE RECORDS of the Kimberley Process CERTIFICATES AND WARRANTIES received and given must be retained for AT LEAST FIVE YEARS. SEAL DIAMONDS RULE IN A TAMPER-PROOF CONTAINER 4 Your parcel will need to be sealed according to the Kimberley Process regulations before the relevant government authority of the exporting country will issue the Kimberley Process Certificate. In addition, your parcel needs to be intact and accompanied with the certificate before it can enter the importing country.
