How FG Spent Funds (Jan-Sept 2012) Debts Servicing Release for Capital Projects N492.36bn C- N471.38bn NJC N39.17bn UBE N47.46bn Overhead Costs N415.23bn NATIONAL ASSEMBLY N112.65bn INEC N10bn Statutory Transfers N209.27bn Personnel Costs N1.38tn As seen, a huge chunk of the government expenses is meant for recurrent budget (salaries, allowances debts servicing). The National Assembly takes N37-5bn every quarter which amounts N112.65bn in 9 months. Of the total funds released by the Federal Government, 16% was released for capital expenditure. Comparing Budget & Actual Expenditure as at Sept. 2012 Budget N2.24tn Budget N1tn Actual N2.29tn Actual N471.38bn Recurrent Expenditure Capital Expenditure Recurrent Expenditure (salaries, overheads & debts servicing) had a overperformed with the actual expenditure exceeding the budget by 2%. Capital expenditure budget (funds for development projects such as new power stations, schools etc) as at September 2012 had a performance of 47% only N471.38bn was released.
