7 WAYS OF ENGAGING STUDENTS USE THE 10:2 METHOD After every 10 minutes of instruction, allow 2 minutes to process and respond to the instruction INCORPORATE MOVEMENT INTO THE LESSON This is an effective cognitive strategy to strengthen learning, improve memory and enhance motivation PICK UP THE PACE Provide students with more opportunities to engage, respond and to move on to the next concept PROVIDE FREQUENT AND EFFECTIVE FEEDBACK Important part of learning cycle, and also strengthens teacher and student relationship THINK TIME Give students 5 to 7 seconds of think time when asking a question MAKE STUDENTS USE THE 3-2-1 METHOD OF SUMMARIZING At the end of the session ask students 3 lessons they learned, 2 interesting things and 1 question they have about the session PERIODICALLY PAUSE MID-SENTENCE II Ask fill in the blanks
