Employer trends with wellness programs and family health

Family Wellness The January/February 2013 American Journal of Health Promotion issue included an informal survey of health promotion providers who manage programs for medium to large employers. The providers collectively represent more than 175,000 lives. Convenience sample survey results of employers showed: Health Risk 50% 23 Assessment 75% Allow or encourage adult dependents to participate in company health assessment processes Made health coaching available to some or all adult dependents 41.7% Opened courses or Ya, endy 8.7% only expressly created wellness programs for employees' family members other interventions to Yet, family members and/or made participation MM incentives available to family members Chief barrier to encouraging family participation: Perceived co$t HealthFitness.
