EARNING A Most state prisoners released each year are ill equipped to meet the challenges of reentering society. In an attempt to lower the number of individuals re-arrested after release, a greater focus on education in prisons to rehabilitate inmates with life skills has been brought into American prisons. More than 90% of the federal and state prisons offer some form of educational program O English as a Second Language (ESL) to inmates.
