Speak with loved ones about a communications plan or a meet up plan. Cell phones are not always reliable in times of emergency. 2. If you live in a hurricane evacuation zone, have a plan on where you will go. 3. FIU residence hall students should plan on going home or staying with a friend if a hurricane threatens. Student shelter will be available, however it will be a last resort and amenities will be limited. f GET A KIT At minimum, a kit should contain enough food and water for 3 days.
