This project is an interactive visualization map of the United States that includes every individual state in the U.S. child support payment through wage withholding for each year during the past deca...
de (1998-2013). This visualization also includes the entire U.S. past decade median and mean child support through wage withholding amount of all the states combined average during the years 1998-2013. This map allows for the user to scroll over each individual state and compare it's specific amount of child support through wage withholding for any year between 1998 and 2013. When scrolling over an individual state you are also provided with not just the specific year you choose to view the stats of, but the previous and next years child support through wage withholding statistics are highlighted, making it easy for the user to compare any specific states stats with any other state, it's own past and future stats (increase and or decrease in child support through wage withholding over the time period), and the comparison of any state with the entire U.S. mean and median average amount. There is so much data, statistics, and information provided in this interactive visualization project, but it is created and put together in a way that makes it easy for the user to comprehend, and understand.
