The San Francisco Public Art Map is a mashup of civic art, landmark or other notable buildings, and Privately Owned Public Open Spaces (POPOS). Most of the data was provided by the San Francisco Publi...
c Arts Commission (SFAC) and The Department of Planning at data.sfgov.org. Other sources include CCSF, SF Mural Arts, and Waymarking.com. Some art has been added by the map author.
Terrain, Toner, and Watercolor basemap options are from Stamen Design, maps.stamen.com. The starting code for the web application was ESRI's public information map, version 2.
This interactive map allows you to view location-based feeds, including recent news, and community-derived content from social networks. The map was built using the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and REST services published with ArcGIS for Server.
The location of public art points, particularly those provided by the SFAC, may be inaccurate. The author is gradually adding new locations, as well as updating the existing locations, adding images and descriptions. This is a somewhat daunting task given the wealth of art in San Francisco.
