There is such a wide range of cost when it comes to airfare, but did you know that the price can range anywhere from $11 (the worlds cheapest flight from Warsaw, Poland to Brussels, Belgium on Ryanair...
) all the way up to $35 million (the cost of a round trip flight to the international space station).
In order to get this data, we used Google Flights and searched hundreds of airlines servicing thousands of cities around the world. It was suggested that the optimal time to purchase airfare is between 47 and 54 days, so we settled on 7 weeks for our searches. Our research was conducted at the beginning of May, so these are prices for flights occurring the last week of June. The graphic also has a lot of fun with scale, not only to put various airfares is perspective with one another, but also with many other common expenses.
