It was the first car to ever have 4-wheeled drive which made it a monster on the rally tracks, resulting in huge sales for Audi. It's only natural that they would re-make it. It's back, and it's brilliant. In the new Quattro, there is a 4.0 litre, twin turbo V8, producing an impressive 552 BHP. This is accompanied by an electric motor, pushing out 148 BHP. This makes the Quattro officially a Hybrid car, bringing its total power to a frighteningly high 690 BHP. The electric battery will provide enough power to drive for 30 miles on its own, taking as little as 1-2 hours to charge back up to full capacity. The new Quattro has amazing versatility, in which it can drive in three different driving modes. The first is Electric; this mode focuses on efficiency over performance, driving on the power of the electric battery. The second of these modes is Hybrid; this mode automatically engages when the acceleration pedal is pressed to the floor whilst in Electric mode. While in Hybrid mode, there is a perfect balance of power coming from the electrical battery, and the engine. The electric battery will also charge while in hybrid mode. For when you really have to go fast, there is Sport mode. This mode prioritises performance. The new Quattro can easily make it from 0-62 in just 3.7 seconds and sits on a top speed of 189 MPH. ORIGINAL QUATTRO D408 PVP With four, decent sized, seats, the interior is impressive for a car of these speed and calibre, there is a downside however. The large electric battery takes up a fair portion of the boot space. PRICING Audi has put a price of 200,000 Euro's on this new Quattro, meaning it's not going to be cheap at all. On top of that, there are also many other competitevly good cars on the market (the Audi R8 for example) making this re-made Quattro a bit of a niche product. However, many die-hard quattro fans will want this car, so it just might get to production yet.
