Car Parking Etiquette
CAR PARKING ETIQUETTE Here's some parking etiquette tips to help you park safely and politely. You should never block-in other drivers while you wait for space to become available. If a driver is already pulling out of a space, it is acceptable to wait and halt other drivers. Watching a couple walk to their car and pack away their bags while cars wait behind you is not polite. Center your car in the space you've chosen. Make sure you park so that other motorists can park correctly around you. Pull fully into the parking space to give drivers the largest possible driving lane and a better view a-head. Don't force your car into a space that is too small. Pay attention and keep an eye out for drivers who may be in your blind spot. 5 MPH Pay attention to the speed limit in a car park and drive within the speed limit. Pay attention to one way signs and other road markings. Don't park in disabled/elderly parking spaces if you are neither disabled nor elderly. Let pedestrians cross at pedestrian crossings. Use your indicators to let other road users know what you are planing on doing. CLIO Don't beep, swear, or make rude signals to other drivers. Stay calm! Only ever park in a designated space. Always stay alert and leave your mobile phone alone until you are safely parked and your ignition is off. Don't fight for spaces or steal a space someone else was about to take - mind your manners.
