Crash Fatalities & Severe Injuries On The Rise In 2012, Austin experienced 78 transportation fatalities,which is an increase of 42% from 2011. This increase follows a multi-year plateau in traffic fatalities across Austin. The 78 transportation fatalities in 2012 is 25% above the average annual fatality rate of 62.3 experienced between 2004 and 2012.
