On August 31st 2012, Telstra 3G2100hz Shutdown will shut down their 3G2100hz frequency. To help reduce an impact to your service and give you a clearer understanding. We present this infographic. Who? Who does this effects? 1. If you're on a BYO plan with a handset transferred from a differant carrier. 2. If you purchased a handset on eBay or a non-carrier related online stores. 3. Anyone who has been given a handset as a gift or hand-me- down from a friend or family member 3G vs Next G The differance between 3G2100 and NextG The Telstra Next G network is over twice as large as any other 3G network in Australia because of the 850hz frequency. Open the back of your phone and check the sim card is Next G. 2. Check the instruction manual (if there is one), the 850hz will be listed under tech spec. (Visit https://help.telstra.com/app/answers/detail/ a_id/17272 to find your mobile manual). 3. Check for Telstra/Next G logos on the packaging before purchase.
