Does the location of your cloud data really matter? The whole idea behind the "cloud" is being able to access your data from anywhere. You would think that the location of your data wouldn't really matter. We asked 144 people what they thought and here are their answers. 53%: The local laws protect me. "Yes, because then it's subject to Canadian law." "Seems safer, at least the legal recourse is local." "Yes, because our country values personal privacy" 22%: Data proximity. "Keeps everything close at all times." "Yes. Because then I know where it is!" "Yes because I want my data to be as secure and close to home as possible." 17%: There are other reasons.. 59% "It's important in case my computers break."
