Is The Word "Golf" Sexist?

GENTLEMEN ÖNLY, LADIES FORBIDDEN LARDO IS THE WORD "GOLF" SEXIST? The word "golf" doesn't actually stand for "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden"! In the past, many golf clubs were for men only- In fact it wasn't until 2012 that Augusta opened for female membership- so that may be where the idea came from. "Golf" actually has its origins in foreign languages, like most of our words. Check it out- Medieval Dutch - "Kolf" or "kolve", meaning "Club" became In the 16th "golve," "gowl" or "gouf." for the Scottish century, that word became "golf" It's possible that the game of "kolf" was played by the Dutch with sticks and balls across frozen canals and later brought to Scotland by their sailors. So the answer is no, the word "golf" isn't sexist, even though the acronym came from some pretty sexist traditions!
