The paddlers' inside hand should grip the top and outside hand should hold the stem of the paddle. + To move the raft forward: Pull the paddle stem from one hand and push the top end away with the other hand. To move the raft backward: Pull the paddle stem from one hand and push the top end away with the other hand. To move the raft right/teft:Paddlers on the right should U paddle backwards while those on the left should do the forward paddle. The opposite is done when moving the raft to left.
