If photo ID does not have signature, additional ID which includes signature is also required. "Voters are asked for a photo ID in order to vote, If a voter does not have a photo ID he/she will be asked identification questions and to sign an identification affidavit before voting. SPhoto ID is not needed to vote, but to register you must provide your Montana driver's license or Montana ID number when you register. * After November 1, 2012, photo ID must be presented in order to vote, or alternatively a voter can fill out a "challenged voter affidavit" to vote on Election Day, and will later receive a verification letter from the Secretary of State, requesting confirmation that he/she voted in the election. He/she does not respond in writing to the Secretary of State within 90 days of the date it was mailed, the Attorney General will conduct an investigation to determine whether fraudulent voting occurred. 7 If you did not provide identification to the county commissioner of registration or if the identification information could not be verified (i.e., your driver's license number or the last four digits of your social security number), YOU MUST SHOW ACCEPTABLE IDENTIFICATION AT THE POLLING PLACE WHEN YOU GO TO VOTE. *In Presidential elections, if you are not registered to vote, or you registered after the deadline, you can go to your City/Town Hall on Election Day and register and vote for President/Vice-President only.
