A list of NSA and Five Eyes surveillance initiatives leaked by Edward Snowden

THE NSA & THE FIVE EYES SECURITY NITED STATES AMERICA The National Security Agency (NSA) is the United States intelligence gathering arm. In recent months the NSA has been featured prominently in the news mainly from leaks provided by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. The leaks provided by Snowden have revealed a number of intelligence gathering initia- tives taking place domestically and internationally. With the number of leaks being covered by the media, citizens in the US and overseas have become concerned about privacy breaches. Top international offi- cials have also become alarmed including US allies Germany and France. The NSA has denied spying on citizens and has stated it is gathering intelligence for national security and to deter terrorist attacks. The NSA cooperates internationally with the Five Eyes. The Five Eyes is multilateral agreement for cooper- ation in signals intelligence between the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zea- land.
