How Normally Open Solenoid Valves Work

How does a 2-way Normally Open Solenoid Valve work? What is a Solenoid Valve? A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device used for controlling liquid or gas flow. Solenoid valves make automation of fluid and gas control possible. Modern solenoid valves offer fast operation, high reliability, long service life, and compact design. What are the different parts of a 2-way Normally Open Solenoid Valve? Stop Magnetic stainless steel Stop Port Present in 3-way and 2-way Normally Open valves. Lead Wires Electrical Connection Coil When energized produces a magnetic field. Coil Housing Plunger Guide Tube Compensating Seal Used in 3-way and 2-way Normally Open vales Plunger Magnetic stainless steel Compensating Spring Body Orifice Seal Plunger Return Spring Stainless steel, provides positive plunger return regarless of mounting position. O-Ring Body Seal Inlet Port Valve Body How does this solenoid valve work? Solenoid valves control the flow of fluids, air, gases and other media in many types of systems and products. Pressurized liquid or gas The valve is controlled by electrical current that passes through the solenoid. When power is 2 off plunger is down opening stop orifice allowing flow through the valve out the Stop Port. Pressurized liquid or gas goes through the Inlet Port and out the Stop Port. Pressurized liquid or gas When the coil is energized, a magnetic field is created, causing the plunger to rise in the valve sealing the stop orifice and closing the valve. The plunger blocks the stop orifice. This does not allow the pressurized liquid or gas to pass the valve. Pressurized liquid or gas 2-WAY VALVES Normally Open De-energized Energized Out Out In In Solenoid valves make automation of fluid and gas control possible.
