A HISTORY OF MICROTECH KNIVES MICROTECH FOUNDED Founders Anthony and Susan Marfione establish 1994 Microtech Knife Company in Vero Beach, FL. The company began making side opening automatics. CFO: THE FIRST OTF The first Microtech out-the- front automatic knife arrives in the Combat/Front Opener or CFO. 1995 THE HALO 1995 The CFO is improved and becomes the HALO, Microtech's ground- breaking tactical OTF auto, and remains a staple of the industry. ULTRATECH: THE DA OTF Microtech's first double action is born and quickly becomes the nation's flagship OTF. 1999 THE UTX 70 The UTX-70 is released, giving the carier the technology of the Ulratech in a smaller, easier-to-cary size: Precisely 70% smaller. THE SCARAB 2003 Using the same technology as the Ultratech, the double-springed, bigger, beefier Scarab is released. The Scarab has become 2003 Microtech's flagship DA OTF, and sets the standard other knife makers attempt to meet. THE CURRAHEE After many requests, Microtech develops a true tactical fixed blade survival knife, showing ihat they are true innovators in all knife słyles. 2006 THE TROODON Once again using the Ultratech design, Microtech develops the Troodon, a sleek, easily consealable DA OTF. The popularity of the knife led to the larger Combat Troodon. 2006 THE SELECT FIRE Microtech introduces an award-winning innovation on side-opening autos. The Select Fire (SF) is introduced, giving users the option to enable or disable the auto function with the tum of a key. 2011 During their history, Microtech has produced revolutionary Tactical Knives, and in keeping with that tradition, they continue to introduce new innovative products, striving for excellence.
