Utah Parks and Recreation Findings 2015

While attending the Utah Parks and Recreation Association conference 2015, we collected qualitative information from attendees regarding the past, present, and future of parks and recreation, below is what we found. Funding is scarce and facilities are often not sized to meet community needs; we need innovative approaches to funding, efficiencies in operations, and optimization for our community interests. Here are opportunities for growth in parks and Space Utilization Multi-purpose spaces to house a variety activities recreation: Recreation Center Prototypes Predesigned and easily scalable options Regional Resource Shared resources Sharing and knowledge Master Planning Recreation Design op tions for phased building and 4 growth Generating Non-Traditional Mixed-use design and leasable square footage Income Community Partnerships Pickleball In tegrating health- care, men tal wellness, and lifelong learning 6.
