The I'm in coupons Handout Boots The earliest depiction of boots is in a cave painting dated back to 12,000 B.C. in Spain. Boots were also found in the tombs of many Egyptian mummies dated back between 2140 – 1785 B.C. During the Middle Ages in Europe, boots ranged from the rough work versions worn by peasants to the ornate and extremely detailed styles worn by nobility and royalty. During the Renaissance, men wore thigh high boots or slouchy boots, and women were expected to wear intricate lace up ankle boots. Military and equestrian sports popularized the riding boot for men in the 1700's and 1800's. The boot reached its popularity for women during the Victorian Age, when styles became more intricate and fashionable. The boot was revived in the 1960's with the London Mod movement, which popularized "Go-Go Boots." Doc Martens became the hot style in the late 1980's and continued through the 1990’s, leading the grunge and punk movements. A © www.imin.com
