EUROPE and the "ALL-AMERICAN" DRUG BLOW GLOBE In 2009, an estimated total of 440 metric tons of pure cocaine were consumed around the world. Of this, close to 30 percent was consumed in Europe alone. As the street price of the drug drops in many regions, our eastern neighbors are becoming more prominent players on the cocaine market.
