Celebrating Americans with Disabilities Act 22nd anniversary 1990 2012 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Signed into law on July 26, 1990, this act is a civil rights law that prohibits, under certain circumstances, discrimination based on disability. It was intended to be a fexible set of laws that could only be strengthened, not weakened, by future case law.
