LGBT Rights Around the World The outlook for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the U.S. has improved rapidly in recent years, but that doesn't necessarily translate to other places in the world. What's the status of LGBT rights around the world? BASIC ACCEPTANCE While Americans continue to debate the merits of marriage equality, in dozens of countries, same-sex relationships are illegal. Here's a look at the varying levels of LGBT acceptance around the world.
