CRIME IN VENEZUELA During the last 10 years the level of crime and corruption in Venezuela have increased due political and economical issues. Armed criminal gangs often operate with impunity throughout the urban areas day and night. Armed Robberies are common as well in touristic areas that are supposed to be safe and visited by numerous of visitors. Between 1998-2006, there were 90.027 of murders in Venezuela.
