How to Organise Your Wedding Table Plan

HOW TO ORGANISE YOUR WEDDING TABLE PLAN There are a number of ways of arranging your table plan, here are a few ideas - just remember there's no right or wrong way so arrange your guests in a way that suits you best! Traditional top table seating CHIEF GROOM'S BRIDE'S BRIDE'S GROOM'S BEST BRIDESMAID FATHER MOTHER GROOM BRIDE FATHER MOTHER MAN Alternative traditional top table seating GROOM'S BRIDE'S CHIEF BEST BRIDE'S GROOM'S MOTHER FATHER BRIDESMAID GROOM BRIDE MAN MOTHER FATHER Tip: Guests are usually seated male, female, wherever possible. Traditional layouts may not always suit, as modern families seem to be less straight forward with parents being separated, divorced and possibly even re-married. Working out who is sitting where on the top table can be difficult enough but with added complications this can end up being a real headache! Here are a few alternative ideas you may wish to discuss with your parents... and step parents! Good luck! Bride's parents divorced and re-married BRIDE'S BRIDE GROOM'S BRIDE'S MOTHER GROOM'S GROOM BRIDE'S STEPFATHER CHIEF FATHER BRIDE'S BEST STEPMOTHER BRIDESMAID MOTHER FATHER MAN Grooms parents divorced and re-married BEST GROOM'S GROOM BRIDE GROOM'S CHIEF BRIDE'S BRIDE'S MOTHER GROOM'S BRIDESMAID FATHER MAN GROOM'S FATHER STEPMOTHER MOTHER STEPFATHER Tip: Use place cards to help guide your guests to the correct seat A top table is not for everyone and that's perfectly fine. There are other options you could consider, like these . A romantic table for tuwo A table with your best man & chief bridesmaid CHIEF BEST BRIDESMAID GROOM BRIDE MAN A table with your children DAUGHTER GROOM BRIDE SON Alternatively have two extra seats at each table so you can mingle and interact with your guests throughout your wedding breakfast. Tip: Use clear, visible table numbers to guide guests to their table Now you have decided on the seating plan for your top table, it's time to plan the rest of your tables. Here are five tips you may want to consider. 1) Sit closest family and friends on the nearest tables to the bride and groom. 2) Consider grouping people who know each other or would get on well, on the same table. The wedding breakfast can take two hours or even longer so you want people to get on! 3) Avoid putting all single people on one table, they will think that you're match making and could all end up being a bit awkward. 4) Consider seating children around the edges of the room thus allowing for high chairs and even pushchairs, and will allow the some space to move around if they wish between courses. 5) Consider the elderly, make sure they can get up easily and have access to a clear walkway wherever possible. Now you have organised your table plan, you will need to make one or buy one. If you don't want to make one or simply haven't got the time, then consider getting one made or printed. Wedding stationery companies do them all the time and are much better set up for producing them, so they will get one made much faster than you will! Tip: Use a font or handwriting that is easy for your guests to read A finished table plan example NICOLA & JAMES 12TH SEPTEMBER 2015 LISA ROBERT LUCY JAMES NICOLA OWEN ROBERT KATE PETER OWEN OWEN OWEN OWEN HARVEY HARVEY HARVEY TABLE ONE TABLE TWO TABLE THREE TABLE FOUR MIKE PRIEST CHRIS PRIEST COLIN DAVIES KATHRYN DAVIES RICHARD BLACK ELIZABETH BLACK ANDREW HUGHES MARGARET MAY CRAIG BARNETT NIKKI LOWE AUSTEN MAY KAREN BARNETT DAVID HICKMAN KAREN STEWART DAVID RIGHMANT NICOLA FULLERTON PETER MAY PETER AUSTIN SUSAN AUSTIN EDWARD BARNETT CATHERINE PEARCE PAUL HODGKISS MANDY HODGEKISS ANDREW HARVEY TERRY SHAW MARGARET BAILEY MARK HARVEY JUSTINE CARTMILL PAMELA SHAW NATALIE HICKMAN JAMES GODDARD RICHARD BARNES TABLE FIVE TABLE SIx TABLE SEVEN TABLE EIGHT JOHN SMITH HELEN SMITH PHIL WILLIAMS STEPHANIE JONES JUNE NICHOLAS JOHANNA NICHOLAS TIMOTHY NICHOLAS THOMAS NICHOLAS ROBERT SMART MICHELLE SMART RYAN SMART MAY SMART LESLEY WILLIAMS LIAM JONES RICHARD MILLER TERENCE GUY SALLY SMITH BRAD SMITH ANNE BRIGHT JOHN BRIGHT ALEX DARKIN FIONA DARKIN VICTORIA GUY DONNA MILLER JOAN SHORT RICHARD SHORT WENDY WILSON HENRY WILLIAMS HOLLY WILLIAMS SOPHIE WILLAMS BEN WILLIAMS HILARY FREWER Wishing you all the best for your wedding day, love from The Card Gallery Team x For more tips and advice, visit www.thecardgallery.co.uk
