These gauges are available at any local auto parts store for an affordable price. The ideal reading pair is 150+ on the high side and 30 on the low side; this is considered "In Range". 30 225 150 3003 20 ] -10 50- 75 375- AC WORKING PROPERLY 425 low side pressure PSI high side pressure PSI CHECK AND REPLACE AS REQUIRED In range In range AC is working properly Low Low Add refrigerant Need service, possibly blockage of the expansion valve or orifice tube Low Low High High Need service, possibly faulty compressor Low Low System is overcharged. Slowly remove refrigerant. Venting is illegal in USA The graphic below shows common low side and high side readings, what they mean, and what you can do to help keep your AC cold for each reading. Gauge indications shown below are taken under the same ambient air (86-95 F) and humidity. High 160 !
