Block Party CHECKLIST Summer is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the season with an outdoor party for your family, friends, and neighbors? That's right a block party! While a regular cook-out takes planning, a block party really needs a lot of coordination. Don't worry- we've got the basics covered for you. Logistics Here are a few items you'll want to plan out ahead of time. Set up a meeting with your neighbors to figure out the basics (when and where). JUNE Send out invitations well 14 in advance. A traditional block party will require a permit to close the street (available from the city). Include a map of the neighborhood highlighting houses/families that are participating, and what activities and food will be where. PERMIT Plan to host different activities or food stations on different neighbor's lawns. Food & Drinks How do you feed a neighborhood? You delegate and divide assets. Spice up your basic BBQ by making sure to include foods that are fun for all ages. Here are a few suggestions that will likely be crowd pleasers.
