1st Birthday Party Planning Checklist

Schedule pickup for one day before the party or earlier. Review tableware and party supply needs to make sure you have enough for the number of guests coming to the party. Select party activities and games. weeks before: Order decorations, party supplies, favors, gift bags and activities from www.BirthdayExpress.com. Don't forget a highchair decorating kit for photos. Buy non-perishable menu items Select, borrow, or buy serveware (cake stands, baskets, etc) 4 weeks before: One Choose party outfits Create schedule for activities/entertainment Create, buy, or borrow any additional risers and props for food table Personalize and print out printables for favors, food labels, signage, etc. week before: Clean party serveware Create timeline for food preparation and assembly Plan tablescapes for dining and food display Finalize RSVPS Confirm services with any entertainers Z days before: Purchase any remaining food, party supplies and equipment needed for the party Organize and stage activity set-up(s) day before: Buy last-minute pershable items, including ice Pick up the cake/cupcakes and decorate the cake/cupcakes, if you chose to make your own rather than ordering one from a store Set tables and arrange displays Childproof party area - remove breakable items and objects that could prevent guests from moving freely. Set up any large supplies and non-perishable decorations. Chill drinks Pick up flowers and arrange (if applicable) Print out a gift tracker sheet The Big Day Inflate and arrange balloons early in the morning - waiting until the party day ensures they will float well. Tie in bunches with curling ribbon and attach to your mailbox.
