Know the Different Types of Air Conditioning

Know The Different Types Of Air Conditioning How do you know which type of air conditioning is right for your home? Here are 5 options explained to make it easier for you. 1. Ductless Air Conditioners, or Split Air Conditioning What It Is: • There is no ductwork, hence the name. The AC is broken into two sections: the indoor and outdoor units. The wall-mounted interior component sucks air from a room and passes it through the refrigerant tubing for cooling. The cooled air is then forced back into the room after filtration. Advantages: These unites offer superior humidity control. Ductless units are extremely quiet and energy efficient. 2. Central Air Conditioning, or Force Air Systems What It Is: • The AC has two components: the evaporative and condensing units. The same ductwork is used for both heating and cooling systems, so the evaporative unit is usually located near the furnace. Warm or hot air in a building is cooled after being forced through the evaporator coil. The cool air is then distributed throughout the house via the ductwork and vents. Advantages: Can be connected to a conventional forced air furnace. Less expensive than other types of installed air conditioners 3. Portable Air Conditioners What It Is: Both evaporative and condensing units are packaged into a single compact unit. Compared to central and ductless AC units, portable units are much noisier They cool less evenly. Advantages: They can be moved from one place to another with ease. They can be used to cool only the rooms that are currently in use, contributing to energy efficiency • Some installation is required. 4. Low Velocity Air Conditioning What It Is: It cools a building by introducing cool air into a building at a low velocity. The room gets cooler as cool air moves downwards from the top of the home. Used for cooling homes under 2,600 sq. ft. Advantages: Cools the home evenly. Superior humidity control. 5. High Velocity Central Air Conditioning What It Is: Flexible ductwork is used to distribute cool air from a central location to different parts of the building. • Used for cooling homes over 2,600 sq. ft. Advantages: • Cools the home evenly. Superior humidity control. For more information, please visit www.belyeabrothers.com Belyea Bros. Since 1908 Heating & Cooling
