AUGUST 15 SINCE 1947 INDEPENDENCE DAY INTRODUCTION 15th August, 1947 was the biggest day in Indian history. India became an independent nation after hard struggle on that day since then, this day is celebrated as Independence day every year. 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY 1600s HISTORY EAST INDIA COMPANY CAME In 1600s British first came to India in the sole purpose of trading and later came to known as the East India Company. They gained power and slowly started to excise control of larger areas. Following Revolt of 1857 led the East India Company to direct control of India. 1857 DIRECT CONTROL OF INDIA PARTITION 14TH Muslim League and Congress party decided to partition of India on June, 1947. Thus on 14th August 1947 Punjab was divided and a new separated nation, Pakistan was born. On 15th August, 1947 at midnight announcing India was a free nation.
